TIPS ON WRITING YOUR BOOK
|
Here I am referring mainly to fiction. You have
an idea for a book so start writing. Forget about
chapters, formatting, software and computers, etc. Get a
pad of white paper and a pen or pencil and start. Once
you begin the information will flow as your imagination
take control. Sometimes the book might in a
bizarre way take control then you will not be able to
stop until you finish that part. Eventually you may
become absorbed by the book to such an extent that your
social world will be neglected. But once bitten by that
particular bug it will be difficult to stop. After you
have written enough, then use a suitable software
package like WordPerfect, Word, or another suitable processor
for typing and editing your book.
Get into a daily routine with pen and pad. That way your imagination will
build your book chapter by chapter. Remember, fiction is
not about grammar or language. It's solely about
imagination. When you are finished writing in your
style, then you can edit your book in English or some
other language of your choice. I use a computer voice to
read my book back to me. That method will show most of
the errors in your book. Since everyone have their own
writing styles, never use a Grammar Checker. Make sure
your book flows smoothly so the reader can follow your
ideas.
I always use the WordPerfect word processor for editing because it
contains Reveal Codes, Flexible Margins, Headers and
Footers, Page Numbers and a host of other flexible
facilities. Further your book can be transformed into
different formats like HTML, DOC, and others. Then your
final book can be exported as an EMBEDED PDF file ready
for upload to KDP. You can always print a few pages of
your PDF file and make relevant checks before uploading
your PDF file. |
